ABOUT INTERCULTURAL HARMONY:

Last Summer, the Langley s International Festival was produced and presented by Latinos in Action Society on Saturday July 21 of 2007 at Douglas Park in Langley City. The highlights were an international performances show on an open stage outdoors, a community and artisan market place, an ethnic food court with a dozen countries represented and a myriad of entertainment for families and all ages. The attendance was estimated at over 5 thousand visitors on its first year!

The next season is presented by the newly formed Intercultural Harmony Society of BC and the event will last one week in June called Culture Fest 2008 . The society has representation from Caribbean, Latin, Afro and Punjabi cultures among others – we believe the new organization will take the lead in the Langleys for voicing and representing immigrant issues and to promote and advocate initiatives in such areas as public art, community development projects, ESL provision and Migrant worker issues as well as being a core part of the Taskforce for Antiracism in the Township of Langley.

We would like to give thanks for the immense media support and generous financial grants of City and Township community grants as well as Vancity, Western Union and our inkind partners at Kwantlen,  FVRL, You gotta have friends, our vendors and awesome group of volunteers in promoting and establishing this important event..
